Nolito: I dreamed that we would play Manchester United

Following Monday’s Champions League draw which paired Sevilla with Manchester United, Spanish forward, Nolito, has revealed that he actually dreamed that the Andalusian side would face the Reds on Sunday evening.

Both Nolito and Jesus Navas will be returning to the famous English city after their respective spells with United’s fierce rivals, Manchester City.

“I said this morning when we arrived in the dressing room, that I dreamt we would play Manchester United,” he explained in an interview with BeIN Sports.

“Jesus Navas has just reminded me of that.

“It’s a very difficult draw.”

Despite their dismal defeat at the hands of Pep Guardiola’s charges on Sunday, Manchester United remain an incredibly efficient football team, something that Nolito is acutely aware of.

“They are a great team,” he admitted.

“They have world class players that are used to big match scenarios.

“It will be very difficult for us.”

Amongst the Andalusian club’s staff, there is feeling that this tie presents an opportunity to gain a measure of revenge on Manchester United following Celta Vigo’s dramatic Europa League elimination at the hands of the English club in last season’s semi-final.

Sevilla’s director of football, Oscar Arias, pointed to that tie as a beacon of hope for his team with it proven that despite their obvious strengths, United can be hurt.

“Progression will be very difficult,” he confirmed.

“We know they are a strong team, but Celta were very close to knocking them out last year.

“We hope to have a similar opportunity, it’s a beautiful draw.”

Saturday’s 5-0 defeat at the hands of Real Madrid has left those within the Seville club shaken to the core, nobody saw it coming.

Arias admitted that the team performed poorly at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and a repeat against Jose Mourinho’s charges would see Los Rojiblancos forfeit any chance of progression they may well have had.

“If we play like we did at the Bernabeu, we have no chance,” he intimated.

“We must correct mistakes.

“We have room for improvement and in difficult moments we must find out best form.”
