Situation and statutes revision process of the Surinamese Football Association

Dear President Krishnadath,
We acknowledge receipt of your correspondence dated 12 June 2022 regarding the annual and financial
reports for the year 2021 rejected by the members of the Surinamese Football Association (SVB) on 28 May
2022 during the General Assembly, which prevents the SVB from submitting its annual audited financial
statements for the year 2021 before the date established by FIFA Forward 2.0. We also take note that
during said General Assembly the board of the SVB announced that it would call for new elections in the
coming months. We must express that both, FIFA and Concacaf, are deeply concerned about this delicate
situation.

In addition, we wish to underline that FIFA and Concacaf see an urgent need to harmonise the SVB Statutes
and Electoral Code with the latest requirements of FIFA and Concacaf. One of FIFA´s primary objectives is
that all of its member associations shall comply with their obligations as provided in the FIFA Statutes. In
this respect, SVB as a member of both FIFA and Concacaf must ensure that its statutes fully comply with the
mandatory requirements contained in the Statutes and regulations of FIFA and Concacaf. Furthermore,
FIFA and Concacaf encourage SVB to adopt additional principles of good governance and best practices in
their statutes and regulations.

In this context, we expect that SVB adopts new statutes and electoral code which are fully in line with the
requirements of FIFA and Concacaf within the coming months. To this end, FIFA and Concacaf will provide
the necessary support to SVB throughout the revision process so that it proceeds in the best conditions. We
will provide you with further details of the revision process in due course. We must stress that no elections
will be take place at the SVB until new FIFA and Concacaf compliant Statutes and Electoral Code are
approved.

Finally, and in view of the delicate and irregular situation currently faced by the SVB, we confirm that FIFA
and Concacaf representatives will be traveling to Suriname in the coming months to properly assess the
situation and determine a way forward. The FIFA and Concacaf representatives will hold meetings with the
different relevant stakeholders of SVB during such meeting.
We thank you for the attention to the above and your collaboration and request that you communicate the
content of this letter to your relevant stakeholders.

DTSNV

Yours sincerely,
FIFA
Kenny Jean- Marie
Chief Member Associations Officer
