In 27 of the 33 stadiums Leo Messi has played in, and against 31 of the 34 teams the striker has faced, he has always drawn blood.
The Argentine has left his calling card practically everywhere he goes, leaving his mark on the pitch regardless of the club he is up against. His goalscoring prowess does not discriminate between rivals and the striker is only two goals shy of Telmo Zarra’s record of 251 league goals.
Leaving aside the Camp Nou, Messi feels quite at home playing in the Santiago Bernabéu, undoubtedly one of his preferred hunting grounds where he is no stranger to scoring goals. The fact that he is up against his biggest rival in their home stadium seems not to bother him at all, in fact Messi seems to rise to the occasion and it is the Real fans that are made to suffer.
Messi has found the net on eight separate occasions playing in the Bernabeu, one more than his tally in the ‘Sardinero’ in Santander. Including his nine visits to Real’s stadium in La Liga, another in the Champions League, and two Spanish Super Cup ties, not to mention several Copa del Rey appearances, La Pulga has been Real Madrid’s worst nightmare.
