Max Verstappen’s historic win streak is over. Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz Jr. took the checkered flag at Sunday’s Singapore Grand Prix, snapping Verstappen’s win streak at 11 races.
Verstappen finished in fifth place after beginning the race in 11th.Mercedes’ George Russell, running in third, crashed out on the final lap, costing him a chance at a podium finish. His teammate Lewis Hamilton ended up in third. McLaren’s Lando Norris held off a charge from the two Mercedes drivers to secure a runner-up finish, while also helping his former teammate Sainz take the victory. This is the first race a non-Red Bull driver has won this season.
