Sanvicente confirms Venezuela’s 23 players for Copa América 2015

Noel Sanvicente has finalised his Venezuela roster for Copa América 2015, trimming his group by three to the 23-man allowance.

Four players were cut from the squad over a week ago, with forwards Fernando Aristeguieta (Philadelphia Union), Mario Rondón (Shijiazhuang), midfielder Yohandry Orozco (Deportivo Táchira) and defender Juan Fuenmayor (Deportivo Anzoátegui) the players omitted following the coach’s first update.

It has now been confirmed that defender Alexander González (Thun) has been cut due to injury, while forwards Edder Farías (Caracas) and Christian Santos (NEC Nijmegen) are the other casulaties.

Venezuela will play Brazil, Colombia and Peru in Group C after their only scheduled friendly against Bolivia for May 31 was cancelled.

Defenders: Gabriel Cichero (Mineros de Guayana), Grenddy Perozo (Ajaccio), Andrés Túñez (Buriram United), Wilker Ángel (Deportivo Táchira), Roberto Rosales (Málaga), Fernando Amorebieta (Middlesbrough), Oswaldo Vizcarrondo (Nantes).

Midfielders: Rafael Acosta (Mineros de Guayana), Ronald Vargas (Baliskersirspor), Franklin Lucena (Deportivo La Guaira), César González (Deportivo Táchira), Tomás Rincón (Genoa), John Murillo (Zamora), Luis Manuel Seijas (Santa Fe), Juan Arango (Tijuana), Alejandro Guerra (Atlético Nacional).

Forwards: Gelmín Rivas (Deportivo Táchira), Nicolás “Miku” Fedor (Rayo Vallecano), Josef Martínez (Torino), Salomón Rondón (Zenit).
