The official song of the 2015 Copa América in Chile has been announced.
The song is called “Al Sur del Mundo” (To the South of the World) and is performed by Chilean group ‘Noche de Brujas’ (Halloween Night).
The arrangement is inspired by the participating nations and South America’s passion for football.
‘Noche de Brujas’ formed in the early years of the new millennium and specialise in tropical music (vocal and instrumental music with “tropical” flavour) – especially the ‘cumbia’ genre.
The group’s lead singer is Héctor Muñoz, also known as ‘Kanela’, and their big breakthrough came following their 2006 hit, “Tu Primera Vez” (Your First Time).
Together with acts like ‘Américo’ and ‘La Noche’ they led the renaissance of tropical music within Chile in 2010.
In 2011, ‘Noche de Brujas’ released their fifth album, “Me Gusta Todo de Ti” (I Like Everything About You) which truly established them as musical superstars in Chile.
In February of this year, the band further boosted their status with a live show at the prestigious Viña del Mar International Song Festival.
