Ecuador’s Miller Bolaños was selected as the MasterCard Man of the Match after his side’s 2-1 victory over Mexico.
The skilful playmaker was involved throughout in the Group A clash in Rancagua, scoring his side’s first goal and setting up the second for Enner Valencia.
His strike arrived on 26 minutes, Bolaños arriving at the right time to slot in at the far post after Valencia’s shot had deflected across the face of goal.
He then turned provider for La Tri’s crucial second, threading a perfect pass through to Valencia who finished clinically on 57 minutes.
The victory means Ecuador could get qualify for the knock-out stages, although they will have to wait on results from the other groups.
