Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards applauded teammate Karl-Anthony Towns after his 25-point performance helped the team avoid a sweep in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals.
“Everything came together for him,” Edwards said after the T-Wolves’ 105-100 victory over the Dallas Mavericks. “He was super confident. He wasn’t worried about any shots previous to the shots he hit tonight. He played exceptionally well, he came through big time, he’s the reason we won tonight.”
Towns scored 20 of his 25 points in the second half, with 10 coming in the first seven minutes of the third quarter. He rediscovered his shot Tuesday, going 4-for-5 from deep. In the three losses, he shot 3-for-22 (14%) from beyond the arc.
It’s the franchise’s first win in the conference finals since 2004 against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Towns is averaging 18 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 32.5 minutes per game in the playoffs.
The Timberwolves host Game 5 on Thursday.
