Messi: I don’t read contracts, I don’t know what I’m signing

Lionel Messi does not know what he is agreeing to when he signs his contracts as he does not read them.

The revelation comes ahead of the Ballon d’Or winner’s trial in a Barcelona court on Tuesday, with Messi and his father Jorge Horacio accused of defrauding the Spanish taxman of 4.1 million euros between 2007 and 2009.

According to Catalan newspaper El Periodico, Messi told a judge in 2013: “I trust my father, who takes care of my business.

“Whatever he tells me to do, I do.”

Asked if he reads his contracts before signing them, the Argentina forward said that he does not.

“I sign everything, but I never read the contracts.

“I don’t know what I’m signing,” he said.

The judge also asked Messi to speak louder during that testimony as he was talking too softly.

“It’s my way of speaking,” Messi explained.

Once the trial is over, the Argentinian will join up with his teammates for this summer’s Copa America.
