Lionel Messi is giving Barcelona more than a few grey hairs as his club worry about possible injury whilst he is away playing for Argentina.
The Argentine starter is trying to find his best form at the start of this new season, and his trip to the USA to take part in two international friendlies might give the Catalan club sleepless nights.
Nevertheless, the Barça coaching staff are trusting in former manager Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino to take good care of Messi during his stint of international duty and make sure the striker comes back in good shape for their forthcoming game against AtlĂ©tico Madrid at the weekend.
However, it shouldn’t be forgotten that Leo Messi has racked up 43 consecutive appearances for Barcelona and Argentina both, in which he has played the full ninety minutes or more. The last match he sat out was almost seven months ago against Elche in the Copa del Rey on 15th January. Since then he’s played in every official match, only missing a couple of friendlies.
Sources in Argentina claim Martino will rest Messi along with many other regular first team players against Bolivia in order to try out new blood, which would suit the number 10 and Barça right down to the ground.
