Paraguay have touched down on Chilean soil as they will complete their Copa América preparations in the host nation.
La Albirroja played their final pre-tournament friendly on Saturday evening but could only muster a 2-2 draw with Honduras.
Next up for Ramón Díaz’s men will be Argentina in their first Group B fixture in La Serena on June 13.
Games against Jamaica – the first team to arrive in Chile – and Uruguay will follow, and the Paraguay coach is happy with his team’s preparation and believes they will improve during the competition.
“What I did not like was that we had to use the ball faster,” Díaz said in a press conference after la Albirroja’s meeting with los Catrachos.
“There are many things to work on and talk to the players about, but overall I’m very happy with the team’s attitude.
“There’s room to grow and work, but I think the team is eager and will surely improve a lot.”
The Argentine left Pablo Aguilar and Raúl Bobadilla out of Saturday’s match but insisted it was only as a precautionary measure.
“Aguilar was not good for the whole week, so we decided to let him rest and he has already recovered 100 per cent – the same with Bobadilla,” he added.
“The next three weeks will be very hard, so we decided not to take risks.”
However, Díaz will be unable to call upon Nelson Haedo Valdez for their Group B opener with Argentina as he was shown a red card against Honduras.
