The Philadelphia 76ers are acquiring sharpshooter Buddy Hield from the Indiana Pacers in exchange for Marcus Morris, Furkan Korkmaz, and three second-rounders, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Hield is averaging 12 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists while shooting 38.4% from distance through 52 games (28 starts). The 31-year-old has been frequently named in trade rumors since arriving in Indiana via the Sacramento Kings in February 2022 but had remained with the franchise as it retools around star guard Tyrese Haliburton.
Korkmaz fell out of Nick Nurse’s rotation in the swingman’s seventh season with Philadelphia. Although he averaged 19.5 minutes over four seasons from 2018-2022 under Brett Brown and Doc Rivers, Korkmaz has mustered just 8.6 minutes per contest in 2023-24.
Morris, a 13-year veteran, has started seven of his 37 games for Philadelphia. The Sixers acquired the forward as part of the James Harden blockbuster in November that sent the star guard to the Los Angeles Clippers. Morris is averaging 6.7 points and shooting 40% from deep this season.
