Arturo Vidal landed the MasterCard Man of the Match award for his part in Chile‘s Copa América 2015 final triumph over Argentina on Saturday.
The midfielder was at his dynamic, combative best in the Santiago showpiece, pressing the opposition midfield after pulling the game’s first save from Sergio Romero in the first half.
There was nothing to separate the two sides at the end of 90 minutes, with Gonzalo Higuaín failing to convert a great chance for La Albiceleste in second-half stoppage time.
Extra time produced no goals either so the game went to penalties, in which Vidal converted from 12 yards before Alexis Sánchez netted the winning kick to end Chile’s 99-year wait for Copa América glory.
