Brazilian legend Arthur Antunes Coimbra, better known as Zico, has been in Barcelona over the last few days and did not pass up the chance to visit the Camp Nou. While there, he gave an interview to Barça TV.
“It wouldn’t be a great surprise if Neymar were named the best player in the world. He’s already one of the best and he’s ready to be the best. His stats for Barça and Brazil say it all”, noted the former Flamengo, Udinese and Brazilian national team star.
Zico views Barcelona as one of the favourites for Champions League glory this season, together with Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich. However, he warned that the holders should not underestimate forthcoming opponents Arsenal: “Barça have every chance of winning in London and in the second leg back here [at the Camp Nou], but Arsenal are a great team too and are in good form”.
The 62-year-old heaped praise on the MSN, calling it “fantastic” the way that the strike trio “play for the team” and highlighting the fact that they “have clicked together perfectly”. He also had some special words for Leo Messi in particular: “Pelé, Garrincha, Cruyff, Beckenbauer and Maradona are the best players I ever saw play. Messi is getting to their level”.
